Late last night I witnessed the greatest image I have ever seen. What I would consider real love, real sacrifice, real care. While in line at Long John Silvers (yes, I was craving chicken strips) I saw this couple assist a lonely lady at the counter. She was all alone…really ALL ALONE! Widowed and without family, she will spend every minute of every day ALONE! Then I witnessed something truly special…this lady went to her table and this couple (in the picture) came and asked, “are you eating alone?” Then the invitation…an invitation to join, to connect, to unite, to eat together, to share life! The next 30 minutes I watched this couple listen to every word spoken by this lonely lady. Lonely no more, I had to leave this picture of real caring, so I thought I would briefly interrupt and thank this couple for going the “extra mile” in caring for a complete stranger! What I noticed was amazing…this sweet lonely lady had not eaten one bite of food, but there wasn’t anything left on the couple’s plates. They just sat and listened and cared! Isn’t it just like our Savior, who sits with us and listens, and sacrifices to be with us! Maybe each of us should look for ways to get out of our comfort zone…to invest in a lonely soul?
Thanks for sharing! That is soooooo awesome!
This is awesome Steve! What a challenge for all of us! Thanks for sharing!
